Underpinning.
Underpinning is now the core of Sutki's work: deepening and strengthening the foundations under bay windows, rear extensions and walls, along with the drainage and groundwork that often comes with it.

A complex job and Sutki was very tidy, quick and easy to work with. Did not quibble when asked to stick to the agreed job specifications. We will be happy to work with him again.
Sutki was hired by us for the underpinning rear extension which entailed relocation of the sewage manhole. … completed the entire job to our satisfaction and to the satisfaction of the Building Control.

Look at the problem
Cracks, a dropping bay or a new extension: it starts with seeing the wall and the ground around it.

Dig in sections
Underpinning is usually dug out in short sections, so the wall above stays supported the whole time.

Concrete below
Each section is filled with new concrete beneath the old footing, often reinforced with steel.
- 04
Check and backfill
Work is inspected, often by Building Control, before the ground goes back and the site is cleared.
